Beard and Moustache Transplant

Beards have an important influence on the formation of masculine identity, the expression of a person’s lifestyle and male psychology. A beard transplant is a solution for lack of growth, scars, burns or thinning where follicles are taken from areas which have sufficient hair and are transplanted into the needed area. While resolving thinning caused by a range of reasons, great transformations can be achieved in cases where there is no to little beard growth. Hairs are taken one by one using the FUE method, thereby preventing scarring. A natural look is obtained by transplanting the hair follicles at the angle required for natural looking beard growth.

According to statistics published by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) in 2008, the number of beard and moustache transplants increased in Turkey and the surrounding region by 110% thanks to many satisfied hair transplant patients.

Why do beards and moustaches fall out?

A beard’s thickness and quality, as well as that of the skin, are completely dependent on genetic factors. Beard hairs take their final form after thickening over 3 years during puberty. Unless there is a major change in a man’s hormone levels, beard hair will keep their final characteristics.

There is currently no cosmetic or drug-based treatment to stimulate hair growth in hairless areas, and this is true also for the beard and moustache. Transplants are the only solution.

Beard and moustache hair loss can be caused as much by autoimmune illnesses as by dermatological ones. Apart from these two factors, the most common cause is hormonal imbalance. In men, testosterone should be managed when it increases beyond the threshold.

How are beard and moustache transplants performed?

Beard and moustache transplants can be carried out on everyone who has hair. Hair follicles are taken from just above the nape of the neck or from above the ears where the hair is thinner. Red scabs appear during the healing process and these fall off after a week, leaving no scarring. There is no major pain or aches after facial hair transplants as the person’s own hair is used.

Results begin to show around 8 to 10 weeks after the procedure. It will be possible to see individual hair strands transplanted into the beard and moustache region with the naked eye.

Eyebrow Transplant

Eyebrows are an important aspect of a meaningful look and glance. Eyebrow transplants counteract tired facial expressions and create a more attractive appearance. The causes of eyebrow-loss are still unknown, but transplants are a solution for causes such as illness, accidents or poor plucking methods. It is important that a doctor confirms the person will benefit from an eyebrow transplant.

A natural result is obtained by transplanting hair that is similar to eyebrow hair and which will start growing after 3 months. It is necessary to wait 8 months for the transplant area to completely heal. This procedure is a permanent solution for both men and women.

Thanks to the innovative high-tech devices in, a painless application of local anesthesia is now possible. applies painless anesthesia to all of its patients to ensure comfort and safety during the procedure. The device injects anesthesia into the skin with high pressure, helping to spread it evenly in depth. The device does not damage the surface of the skin and places the anesthetic in depth without creating discomfort for the patient.

Latest FUE Technique

Hair follicles are ‘harvested’ from the nape of the neck, known as the safe region, with low RPM micro punches under local anaesthetic. These micro punches are able to take multi-follicle grafts (with two or more follicles) without harming them.

Sapphire Percutaneous Technique

This is a special method used in a limited number of clinics across the globe, mainly in America. Rather than into slits, the hair follicles are transplanted into three-dimensional channels created with very fine needles.

The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique method carries the lowest possible risk of harming the transplant area as the channels opened are of the same width as the hair follicles and the recovery period is 2 times as fast. The transplant area recovers in as short a time as 2-3 days and doesn’t leave any scarring. These fine channels can be made in between individual hair follicles thus preventing any harm from coming to them. The amount of liquid applied with The Sapphire Percutaneous Techniqueis also lower, meaning that visible post-treatment swelling is also lower.

One of the major advantages of the percutaneous technique is that it leaves a ‘natural result’, and here the key factor in obtaining a natural result is the angle the hair follicles are transplanted.

The slits created with the slit method are larger than the hair follicles which cannot be transplanted at a natural angle as the angle of the slits cannot be adjusted. Moreover, the transplanted hair follicles may move around in the slits, changing their angle, and may even fall out.

The density of the transplanted hair follicles is also important for a natural-looking and successful hair transplant.

With the slit method, there is the need to leave space between the relatively large slits so that they can heal and this limits the possible transplant density. This means that a result of full, thick hair is not possible.

Hair follicles transplanted with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique via hair-fine three-dimensional channels are transplanted at the most natural angle and cannot move around, meaning it is impossible for this angle to change after the transplant. The hair follicles are inserted into the channels by holding onto the hair itself, preventing any harm from being caused to the follicles.

The use of small channels with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique creates the possibility of having many channels in close proximity to each other, meaning that the percutaneous technique is able to afford twice as much density with as many as 40-50 being possible per cm2 of scalp, creating a very thick-looking head of hair.

The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique is a reason why many of our patients who do not like taking unnecessary risks to get high-quality results choose estethica for their hair transplant. It is currently used only in the world’s leading clinics, mainly in America.

It is possible to transplant up to 6000 grafts (12,500 – 15,000 hair follicles) in a single session with The Sapphire Percutaneous Technique which is the preferred option of many of our informed foreign patients as it offers less hair follicle loss/wastage and risk.

We recommend that you rest for 1 day after this painless, 5-8-hour procedure before returning to your normal life. Hair will begin to appear from the transplanted follicles from 3 months onwards after the procedure and all of them will have begun to grow at most 1 year later.
